Kaling preps Hulu Four Weddings adaptation
Hulu is developing UK movie classic Four Weddings and a Funeral with comedian, producer and creator Mindy Kaling.
Kaling (pictured) will work together with executive producer Matt Warburton, who worked with her on The Mindy Project, on the project.
The pair will executive produce with the movie’s original writer, Richard Curtis. Jonathan Prince, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, who all worked on the original feature will also be involved.
MGM Television, which owns the rights to the movie, is set to produce with Universal Television, where Kaling is already placed.
The series is said to follow a group of friends each touched by four weddings and a funeral, with each season following a different story arc.
It is said that Kaling was brought in by Prince to take on the job due to her contemporary form of storytelling.
Hulu is also home to The Mindy Project, which was picked up after being cancelled at Fox, and is ending after its sixth season.
