Movistar Plus+ acquires ‘Tattooist Of Auschwitz’

Movistar Plus+ in Spain has acquired Sky and Peacock series The Tattooist Of Auschwitz from distributor All3Media International.

The series, produced by Synchronicity Films in association with Sky Studios and All3Media International, is a six part limited drama series is based on the bestselling novel by Heather Morris. It is inspired by the real-life story of Lali and Gita Sokolov, who met while prisoners in the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust of World War Two.

The series will be available from 2 May on Sky Atlantic and streaming service Now in the UK and Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Peacock in the US and Stan in Australia.

Cineflix Rights takes ‘Château DIY’ franchise

Cineflix Rights has acquired the global distribution rights for long-running series Château DIY and spin-off brand Château DIY: Living The Dream.

Château DIY (seasons 1-7, 209 x 60-minutes), from Spark Media Partners for Channel 4 in the UK, follows château-owners as they tackle monumental renovation projects and transform worn-yet-wonderful castles across France.

Château DIY: Living The Dream (8 x 60-minutes), also from Spark Media Partners for More 4 in the UK, revisits eight homeowners to celebrate their journeys as they breathe new life into rundown castles across France.

Dragons’ Den (Germany)

‘Dragons’ Den’ lands in Bangladesh for 50th edition

Business reality format Dragons’ Den (also known as Shark Tank and Lions’ Den) will launch its 50th iteration later this year on Bongo and Deepto TV in Bangladesh.

The format is distributed by Sony Pictures Television and originated on Nippon TV in 2001 under the title Money Tigers. It has since travelled to countries including the UK, on the BBC and the US on ABC, as well as In Mexico, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Egypt, Greece, Dubai and others.

Laura St. Clair, VP of international formats, Sony Pictures Television, said: “To see this franchise accelerate across another ten territory launches in just four years to cross this major global milestone is fantastic. It is a testament to the true universality of the format that each of these 50 versions have been uniquely tailored to and reflective of their territory, but are instantly recognisable the world over”
