Sky and A+E Networks extend European partnership
Sky has extended its long-term partnership with A+E Networks and will continue to distribute A+E’s channels across its European footprint.
The deal applies to A+E Networks’ six brands in Europe – History, Lifetime, Crime + Investigation, H2, A&E, and Blaze. The latter launched in the UK in September and recently went live in Italy exclusively via Sky Italia.
The pan-territory agreement covers linear channel distribution and also enables Sky customers to access A+E Network’s brands and content via non-linear platforms – including through Sky’s OTT service Now TV in Italy.
Sky also promised an enhanced A+E Networks content offering through Sky Go in the UK and Germany.
“It’s great to have built on Sky’s decade-long relationship with A+E with this pan-European partnership,” said Rob Webster, group director partner channels, Sky.
A+E Networks’ managing director, EMEA, Dean Possenniskie said: “I am very pleased that we have created an enhanced long-term partnership with Sky across Europe.”
Sky has 22.4 million customers across the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria.
