TLC to pilot Dutch format Find My Family
Absolutely Independent’s reunion-themed format Find My Family is being pilot for US cable channel TLC.
The pilot will likely go out as Long Lost Family, the same name the format employs in the UK, were it plays on commercial channel ITV.
Shed Media US is producing the pilot, which will launch on Discovery Communications’ female-skewed TLC in the autumn of this year.
“The tremendous success of Long Lost Family in the UK is testament to the power of finely crafted storytelling, and with TLC as our partners, we think we’ve found the perfect home for the show,” said Shed Media US’s general manager Sam Healey.
Find My Family was created by Dutch pubcaster KRO more than two decades ago, and has been air consistently ever since. Absolutely says it currently outperforms its channel’s average by more than 10%.
