Brazil’s Globo ups Pablo Ghiglione to head of international co-production

Hidden Truths II

Brazilian broadcaster Globo has promoted Pablo Ghiglione to head of international co-production.

In his new role, Ghiglione will seek out new partnerships and business models in international co-productions to take Globo productions worldwide.

Ghiglione is upped from his previous position as sales executive for the Americas at the company’s distribution arm.

He takes over the role that had previously been held by Ana Carolina Lima, who exited the company last year, as first revealed by TBI.

During her time at the company she was behind shows including Globoplay’s Hidden Truths II (aka Verdades Secretas II), the first telenovela specifically produced for the streamer.

Ghiglione takes on his new role with more than 12 years of experience in content distribution and negotiation. During his time at Globo, he has overseen agreements with platforms including HBO Max and Paramount+, as well as the main channels and communication groups in Latin America.

Other recent leadership changes at Globo have seen Angela Colla promoted to head of international business in January. Previously serving as head of international sales, she stepped into the role vacated by veteran exec Raphael Corrêa Netto when he became director of non-sports pay-TV operations in November.

Globo has been investing heavily in its streaming service Globoplay over the past couple of years, with the launches of titles including Hidden Secrets II (aka Verdades Secretas II), Aruanas and Unsoul.
