Brazilian broadcaster Globo has promoted Angela Colla to head of international business.

Colla, who previously served as head of international sales, steps into the role vacated by veteran exec Raphael Corrêa Netto when he became director of non-sports pay-TV operations in November.

In her new role, Colla will be responsible for the expansion of Globo’s “repertoire of business models” across licensing and international co-productions.

Colla has spent more than 15 years as part of Globo’s international team, with responsibility for distribution and co-productions.

She will now head up a team including Globosat and Endemol Globo alum Monica Athayde, who has been appointed as head of international co-productions.

Colla’s promotion follows other recent changes to  Globo’s international business, including the exit of Ana Carolina Lima, who headed up content at at Globoplay, and stepped down in August after almost a decade with the company, as revealed by TBI.

Globo has been investing heavily in streaming service Globoplay, with titles including Hidden Secrets II (aka Verdades Secretas II), Aruanas and Unsoul.
