Canal+ agrees Catch-22 deal with Paramount
Paramount Pictures Worldwide Television Licensing & Distribution says it has agreed to license its newest prestige drama, Catch-22 to Canal+ in France.
The 6x60m series has been developed by George Clooney and his producing partner Grant Heslov, in collaboration with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.
Based on Joseph Heller’s classic anti-war satire, Catch-22 is set amid the crazed combat of WWII Italy.
Clooney will star in the series, and will be joined by Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street, “Bloodline”), Hugh Laurie (“The Night Manager”), Giancarlo Giannini (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale) and Christopher Abbott (“Girls”), who will take the lead role, playing cynical pilot Yossarian.
In addition to its Canal+ home the series will also air on Hulu in the US, Sky Italia in Italy and Channel 4 in the UK.
