A day after launching its editorial-driven app Discover, messaging service Snapchat has launched its first exclusive original series.
SnapperHero, which comes from digital prodco Astronauts Wanted and MSN Fullscreen in conjunction with US telco AT&T, will feature YouTube and Vine personalities playing superheroes.
Video Game High School’s Freddie Wongis among those lined up to appear.
The videos will last between 100 and 200 seconds and comprise a total of 12 episodes that are available for a limited period of time, with four released a week.
Snapchat has not financed the series, according to Bloomberg, but as with its message-sharing service, hosts content from creators.
Yesterday, Snapchat launched Snapchat Discover, an in-app feature that allows users to explore stories from different professional editorial teams. Media partners include National Geographic, Vice Media, Yahoo News, Comedy Central, CNN, ESPN and Scripps.
