Italian channels spin Endemol DJ format

Italian pay TV channel Sky Uno and free-to-air counterpart Cielo have commissioned an eight-part DJ format hailing from Endemol.

TOP DJ will comprise a nationwide search for Italy’ best disc jockey through live club performances at venues packed with fans and celebrity guests. The winner, decided by veteran Italian DJs, will get a contract with Sony Music, and headline a 25-event tour.

Endemol Italy and affiliate YAM112003 are producing for the linear channels, and will create social media content for YouTube, Soundcloud, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.

“TOP DJ is the first show of its kind in Italy,” said Endemol Italy CEO and chairman Endemol Italy Paolo Bassetti.

“It’s the ultimate platform for the nation’s most exciting DJ talent as well as a unique opportunity for strategic brand partnerships.  This is an easily adapted format with clear potential for the international market.”

Endemol has format rights.
