Suits fits on Amazon
Amazon’s UK on-demand service Prime Instant Video has acquired a trio of scripted shows from NBCUniversal International.
Prime has picked up legal comedy-drama Suits (pictured), supernatural series Grimm and comedy Parks and Recreation, and renewed Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, 30 Rock and The American Office.
Amazon said the deal comprises “hundreds” of episodes.
Amazon recently rebranded its UK SVOD service as Prime Instant Video, having previously operated the service under the guise of Lovefilm. Amazon acquired Lovefilm in January 2000 for £200 million (US$340 million).
However, according to research from Decipher Media, Prime Instant Video has lost share in the UK to rival Netflix, which launched in the territory more than two years ago.
