Sony sticks with programming chiefs
Sony Pictures Television has extended the contracts of co-presidents, programming and production Jamie Erlich and Zack Van Amburg.
The pair will remain at the Culver City-based studio for another three years at least after signing contract extensions.
SPT is currently producing US series including NBC’s new season hit The Blacklist, Syfy’s recently-recommissioned Helix and ABC sitcom The Goldbergs, and is also working up Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul and Vince Gilligan’s new CBS series Battle Creek. It is also producing superhero drama Powers for tech sibling Sony Playstation.
Sony has pointed to its television unit as its new crown jewel and the unit was largely untouched by recent company-wide staff cuts.
In January, SPT president Steve Mosko told TBI the business would look to increase its exposure in emerging territories. “We’re looking to expand our international business so if there are opportunities through acquisition we’re looking at them,” he said.
