French doc firm scores VOD distribution deal
France-based doc distributor Java Films has hooked up with North American video-on-demand aggregator Syndicato.
The strategic deal will see Syndicato, which places VOD content on major online platforms such as Netflix and Amazon, taking Java-owned films such as Desert Riders (above), Sunday in Brazzaville and The Undocumented to Europe, Latin America and Asia.
“Digital is still relatively new and unproven for us. We’re happy to partner with Syndicado whose accessible approach and position with the major VOD outlets gives us and our filmmakers the exposure we need strategically, while still being cost effective for us in this emerging platform.” said Roch Bozino, managing director of Java Films.
“We’re delighted to start working with Java Films, who’s catalog and stable output of award winning and audience driven international documentaries gives our VOD outlet clients the depth to help them compete in the ongoing battle between devices, screens and traditional delivery,” added Syndicado president Greg Rubidge.
