Sky orders two 3D Attenborough docs
UK pay TV platform BSkyB has ordered a pair of 3D docs fronted by natural history broadcaster David Attenborough.
One-off doc David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Adventure and two-parter Conquest of the Skies will both be made by Colossus Productions, the joint venture production company set up by Sky 3D and UK indie Atlantic.
David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Adventure will see the eponymous broadcaster explore the famous London museum after hours as its famous exhibits come to life. Little is known about Conquest of the Skies aside from its title, with Sky promising to release more information shortly.
Both shows, which are being written by Attenborough, will debut in 2014. They will build on the five previous 3D series he has made with Atlantic for Sky.
Atlantic CEO Anthony Geffen said: “We’re delighted to continue our very exciting creative collaboration with Sky 3D and David Attenborough. David is very excited about both these projects, because they will allow us to push the boundaries in terms of 3D in terms of story-telling and technology.”
