TVNZ names new content bosses
Cate Slater has been upped to director of content and Andrew Shaw to deputy director.
She replaces Jeff Latch who is leaving the broadcaster. He resigned in March after 23 years at TVNZ.
Slater is a rights and distribution specialist having been at IMG in Europe and Australasia. She joined Kiwi pubcaster TVNZ in 2013 and is being upped from general manager content rights and legal counsel.
Shaw has held various roles at TVNZ across production, commissioning and acquisitions.
“We’re proud to promote proven talent from within the business to such a critical role and we look forward to Cate’s contribution to our executive leadership team,” said TVNZ CEO Kevin Kenrick.
TVNZ is in the midst of restructuring with job losses expected.
“We know that our success in transforming TVNZ, from a TV broadcaster to being New Zealand’s leading video service provider, will be heavily dependent upon leadership,”Kenrick said.
“We’re confident that today’s new appointments will step change our focus on viewer needs and lead the delivery of compelling content that’s enjoyed and valued by New Zealanders.”
The new positions are effective from mid-June.
