Warner Bros. hires Hillerbrand to replace Halding
Warner Bros. has brought in Fredrik Hillerbrand to run its production operations in Denmark.
He replaces Esben Halding, the former boss of Warner Bros.-owned (and subsequently rebranded) Eyeworks Denmark. Halding had been running the Danish operation for seven years, joining from free TV net TV2.
Hillerbrand (also known as ‘Fellini’) becomes the MD for Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP)’s Danish arm, and joins the company from Strong Productions, where he was CEO.
At Strong he oversaw the merger of Danish production companies Gong and Strix having previously been MD at Strix.
His credits include the local versions of Kitchen Nightmares and The Farm.
At WBITVP he will report to Ronald Goes, executive VP and head of WBITVP who said: “We are thrilled to welcome Fredrik to lead our production operation in Denmark. He brings with him a great deal of experience and creativity and he’s the perfect choice to grow our Danish production business.”
Hillerbrand added, “WBITVP Denmark has an incredibly strong portfolio of both home grown and imported formats. I’m excited to be joining this team to contribute to our ongoing success.”
WBITVP Denmark’s recent shows include the local version of First Dates, as well as Drugs in Summer for Discovery and Ask Charlie for TV2.
Strong, which is part of the MTG-owned Nice Entertainment Group, said that Trine Bjørn Jakobsen will fill Hillerbrand’s shoes on an interim basis while a full-time replacement is sought. “I am looking forward to being in the front at Strong until we have the next CEO in place, and I am happy to know that I am backed by a solid team,” she said.
“Fellini leaves a great company, and we are all thankful for his long valuable contribution to Strix, Strong and Nice,”added Morten Aass, CEO of Nice. “We’ll miss his positive attitude and wish him the best of luck.”
