TVNZ stocks up on US drama
Kiwi pubcaster TVNZ has unveiled its new season line-up, revealing a raft of US series pick-ups.
The free-to-air broadcaster has bought The Muppets from Disney Media Distribution.
The series, which launches on ABC in the US this fall, was one of the buzziest from this year’s LA Screenings.
Also from Disney, TVNZ has The Catch and Code Black, which will bow on ABC and CBS respectively in the States.
From Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution, TVNZ has buzzy NBC thriller Blindspot (pictured) and CBS’s superhero offering Supergirl.
The Kiwi broadcaster has also bought Wesley Snipes NBC series The Player from Sony Pictures Television.
Other new offerings with an international flavour include a local version of factual series Coast and a local version of classic quiz format Mastermind. Both format deals came through BBC Worldwide.
