Lynn Barrie exits US cablenet Freeform

Lynn Barrie, SVP of original programming and development at Freeform, is exiting the Disney-owned US cablenet after three years at the company.

Barrie joined in 2018 to oversee the development of scripted drama and comedy series, with projects including comedies Everything’s Gonna Be Okay and Single Drunk Female, and drama Cruel Summer, picked up to series on her watch.

The exec came to Freeform from ABC, where she served as VP of comedy development and helped to guide the development and production of comedies including Speechless and The Goldbergs.

Before that, she was SVP of current programming at ABC Entertainment Group, overseeing the production of all scripted dramas and comedies, including The Middle, Modern Family and Happy Endings.
