France’s TF1 remakes Spanish drama ‘La Caza: Monteperdido’

TF1 is onboard a French adaptation of Spanish drama La Caza: Monteperdido, with Banijay France labels Terence Films and Gétévé Productions co-producing.

The 6 x 52-minute show will be known as Rivière-Perdue and is being written by Eugénie Dard, Sylvain Caron and Elsa Vasseur, with Jean-Christophe Delpias directing.

The story explores how a car accident leads to the mysterious reappearance of a teenage girl who has been missing for five years, leading to a race against time to find another woman who went missing at the same time.

La Caza: Monteperdido was produced in 2019 for RTVE by Banijay’s DLO Producciones and is based on Agustín Martínez’s best-selling novel, Monteperdido. It is now into a third season and is available on Netflix.

Bertrand Cohen, CEO at Terence Films, said: “We’ve worked on many book-to-screen adaptations, but this project has a strong central concept and overarching storyline, making it ideal for adaptation.”
