Warner Bros. TV Group extends Greg Berlanti’s overall deal
Warner Bros. TV Group (WBTVG) has signed a new overall deal with ‘Arrowverse’ architect Greg Berlanti, which will see his Berlanti Productions based at the studio until 2027.
Under the terms of the deal, Berlanti Productions will continue to develop new television programming to be produced by divisions of WBTVG for all platforms, including Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max, external streaming services, cable, and the broadcast networks.
The new pact continues a long-running relationship between Berlanti and WBTVG that dates back, over two stints, to 2001 and has been renewed multiple times.
Berlanti Productions is behind titles including HBO Max comedy thriller The Flight Attendant as well as the Netflix series You and is set to launch the upcoming new series Dead Boy Detectives for HBO Max this year.
Last year, the prodco named Warner Bros. Television’s drama exec Leigh London Redman as its president.
The exec and his label also created The CW’s expansive live-action DC superhero franchise, the ‘Arrowverse’ – producing series including Arrow, The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Batwoman – which has begun to wind down after more than a decade of inter-connected adventures with numerous recent cancellations.
“With this deal, I’ll be lucky enough to be going into my third decade of making TV and calling Warner Bros. my home,” said Berlanti
