Amazon Prime Video names country chief for Germany following Kaspar Pflüger’s exit

Amazon has appointed Christoph Schneider to oversee operations for its Prime Video service in Germany and Austria, replacing the outgoing Kaspar Pflüger.

Amazon hired former ProSiebenSat.1 MD Pfluger in March to lead its Prime Video operation in Germany, taking on part of the remit belonging to Schneider.

Reporting to Amazon’s VP of Prime Video in Europe, Barry Furlong, Pflüger had overseen the streamer’s operations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but he departed last month after six months in the role.

Schneider had previously been in charge of Amazon’s German streaming operations for almost a decade and continued to lead content acquisition for Prime Video in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux after Pflüger’s hiring.

He also remained part of Amazon’s leadership board and will now take on the broader remit for Prime Video, whose slate includes comedy show LOL – Last One Laughing, produced by Constantin Entertainment, as well as Fremantle’s We Children Of Bahnhof Zoo.
