Banijay UK format label Remarkable Entertainment has promoted creative directors Tamara Gilder and Cat Lawson to joint-MDs of the company.

The duo will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the firm, which is led by Natalka Znak, who was named CEO of Remarkable and fellow UK label Initial at the end of last year.

Gilder and Lawson will also be tasked with building the firm’s slate of entertainment formats, which includes Pointless, Starstruck and the upcoming revival of reality entertainment format Survivor for BBC One.

Gilder joined Remarkable in 2016 as executive producer before being promoted to creative director in 2019, creating and running Richard Osman’s House of Games as well as entertainment shows Pointless and Pointless Celebrities.

Lawson arrived at Remarkable as a creative director in 2018, working across shows including All Together Now, Sunday Brunch and Starstruck.

Claire O’Donohoe has meanwhile also been promoted to chief creative officer, working across Remarkable Entertainment and fellow Banijay UK labels Initial and Znak TV. She joined Banijay UK in February as director of programmes and has worked closely with Znak, helping to secure recent recommissions of Big Brother for ITV2 and Survivor for BBC One.

All three will report to Znak and take up their roles with immediate effect.

“We are in an aggressive period of expansion at Remarkable Entertainment with big new shows like Starstruck and Survivor joining our returners, an incredible archive of IP and new development to roll out,” said Znak.

These appointments follow the hiring of Simon Crossley as head of development and Roger Johnson as development producer in August. The two execs are working on quiz, game show and entertainment formats for the UK and international markets.
