Sweden’s TV4 & C More remake Norwegian pregnancy drama ‘Heartbeats’

Heartbeat

Sweden’s TV4 and C More have ordered a local version of Norwegian drama Heartbeats, after striking a deal via Plimsoll Productions-owned Magnify Media.

The 8 x 16-minute format is being produced by Baluba for free-to-air broadcaster TV4 and its sibling streamer C More.

Magnify will distribute both the Swedish and Norwegian completed series worldwide, with both the original and the remake having already been licensed to pay TV for Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Details have not been revealed.

Heartbeats is into its fourth season on TV2 Norway and tells the unlikely love story of two twenty-somethings who end up pregnant after a one-night stand. The original drama is produced by local prodco ANTI.

Cecilia Ingebrigtsen, director of format sales for Magnify Media, said: “As broadcasters in other territories look to target this valuable demographic, Heartbeats is a powerful love story with a proven track-record of delivering this hard-to-reach audience.”

Magnify recently unveiled the sale of Handmade: Good With Wood to Discovery+ and appointed Anthony Appell as its head of sales and co-productions.
