France’s TF1 orders Global Agency format ‘Blind Duets’

Blind Duets

France’s TF1 has ordered a new shiny floor format from Turkish distributor Global Agency.

Blind Duets features a jury of four celebrity singers and 12 contestants, the latter of whom remain hidden behind multi-coloured doors.

Contestants provide details of their lives and dreams, before each is required to emerge form behind their doors to sing a duet with a member of the jury. Audiences then mark each duet, with contestants vying to make it to the show’s finale.

It is the latest collaboration between TF1 and Global Agency, which partnered on singing format Is That Really Your Voice? last year. The show, known as Good Singers in France, sees teams of celebrity judges attempting to guess contestants’ voices from their appearances and hearing them talk.

Julien Degroote, head of content development at TF1, said: “After two successful seasons of Good Singers on TF1 and along new episodes to come, it is great to work on a new pure co-viewing entertainment [show] for all the family where celebrities and contestants will have fun together on stage.”
