Germany’s Leonine Studios has appointed the former SVP of content partnerships at US streamer Hulu to its advisory board.

Heather Moosnick previously worked across the Disney-owned streamer’s content and acquisition strategy, and was also head of global business development, strategy and content partner management for YouTube TV and Google Fiber.

Prior to that, Moosnick was head of music label partnerships for YouTube, where she led on the launches of YouTube TV, YouTube Premium and YouTube Music.

The appointment is the latest addition at Leonine, which has also made a series of senior exec hires in the past 12 months including that of former Red Arrow Studios creative director Nina Etspueler. The firm – backed by private equity giant KKR and LA-based Atwater Capital – is home to companies including Tele München Group and Dark prodco Wiedemann & Berg TV, with a catalogue of more than 7,000 titles.

Vania Schlogel, chair of Leonine’s advisory board and founder & managing partner at Atwater, said: “Heather’s insights and experience from her background driving strategy and business development at some of the world’s leading media players will be invaluable as Leonine continues its remarkable growth story.

“On a personal level, I am proud to chair a board with such a strong female executive presence, a signal of our commitment to building a more diverse landscape for the global media and entertainment sector.”

Moosnick added: “I am looking forward to working with the highly talented management team and other members of this strong and diverse board to help Leonine achieve its outstanding growth potential. In a rapidly growing and increasingly global premium streaming world, Leonine is well positioned to win as a top creator of universally popular films and hit TV series.”
