Dan Gopal

Entertainment One (eOne)’s former EVP of sales Dan Gopal has taken up a new role as chief commercial officer at rights representation outfit PRS For Music.

Gopal will start on 1 March, leading commercial and strategic partnerships while improving customer relationships and joint ventures. He reports into CEO, Andrea Czapary Martin.

PRS for Music represents the rights of songwriters, composers and music publishers in the UK and around the world.

Gopal, who left eOne earlier this month, had joined the firm from ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) in 2017 to take up a MENA-focused sales role. He was further elevated in 2019 as part of a three-pronged EVP team following Hasbro’s $3.8bn acquisition of eOne.

Before that, he spent a decade at Disney Media Distribution before moving to Miramax to run its EMEA distribution business after private equity bought the business from the Mouse House.
