ZDFE adds former Red Arrow exec for acquisitions, sales in English-language & Scandinavia

ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has appointed former Red Arrow Studios International (RASI) exec Yi Qiao as director of its drama acquisitions and sales operations in Scandinavia and English-speaking territories.

Qiao most recently worked for RASI as senior sales manager in London and oversaw deals for the company in the UK, Benelux, Scandinavia, Middle East and Africa.

Her remit at ZDFE includes responsibility for buying and selling new drama projects across English-speaking territories and Scandinavia.

The German company has been ramping up its drama interests of late and in December appointed Lasse Scharpen to head up Studio Zentral, a new scripted division that will develop fictional productions for the national and international market.

She reports into Robert Franke, VP of drama at ZDFE, who said Qiao would represent territories “that are are of paramount importance to us.”
