France’s Altice launches tech-focused TV channel 01TV

Altice France has launched a new TV channel based on its technology news website 01net.

The channel, 01TV, is available on the TV service of Altice-owned SFR and also on Orange’s service. It enables viewers to follow reports by the 01net editorial team live and also on catch-up.

The channel started airing at 20:00 CET on Monday and will be broadcasting live from the CES show in Las Vegas for the remainder of this week.

The editorial team is led by presenters François Sorel and Jérôme Colombain, with programming ranging from short clips to 52-minute news shows that focus on tech. 01TV will include headline programmes such as 01Hebdo, De Quoi J’me Mail, L’Ultra Haute Emission, 01Driveand Village Startup along with other reports by the team, the best of videos shown on the web and a weekly short programme presented by Jordan Caucino, Tech a Break.

Monthly shows on the service include 01Drive, about connected automotive technology, and Le Saviez-Vous?, a short programme dedicated to unusual tech stories.

“Launching a linear TV channel is a logical step for 0.1net.com, already leader in high-tech news and video on the web. Our goal is to accompany French people in their appropriation and understanding of new technologies wherever they are, on all platforms,” said Christofer Ciminelli, deputy CEO of 01net.
