HBO Max pushes deeper into unscripted with Monica Lewinsky doc and ‘The Ho’s’

HBO Max is further expanding its unscripted output with a documentary featuring Monica Lewinsky and a series inspired by Crazy Rich Asians.

15 Minutes of Shame will feature individuals from around the world who have suffered from public-shaming, with insights from those involved, members of the media and psychologists.

Lewinsky, who became known round the world for an affair with then-US president Bill Clinton, will exec produce and feature in the show with Max Joseph, who co-hosts Catfish on MTV. A+E Networks-backed Six West produces.

Meanwhile, The Ho’s is an 8 x 30 minute show that follows a Vietnamese immigrant family who now own various business interests in the US including a bank and a real estate development company.

The show is being produced by US-based Wallin Chambers Entertainment in association with Lionsgate TV and joins talent-led commissions including a film from comedian Amy Schumer, revealed yesterday.

The platform, which is to launch next spring, has ordered Expecting Amy (working title), which goes behind the scenes on Schumer’s recent pregnancy while touring for a stand-up special. Also on the slate is lifestyle follow-doc series Brad & Gary Go To… (w/t).
