Discovery promotes Food Network’s Todd Weiser

Discovery has promoted Todd Weiser to senior vice president, programming and development at Food Network and Cooking Channel.

White will report to the networks’ president Courtney White. “Todd brings an expertise in creating smart, innovative and audience-pleasing content,” said White.

Weiser joined Food Network in 2013 as vice president, programming and development where he launched Holiday Baking Championship, Halloween Baking Championship, Christmas Cookie Challenge and, most recently, the relaunch of Restaurant: Impossible.

Before that, he was the director of program development at Animal Planet. He also worked at Picturehouse/Newmarket Films from 2004-2007.

Weiser’s move is the latest in a reshuffle of senior Discovery execs. In the past week, Discovery has promoted Matthew Butler to general manager of Travel Channel, while Jane Latman was promoted to president of HGTV channel.
