Sales round-up: Prime Entertainment takes strikes European sales for docs, Mediapro closes deals for ‘Forever or Never’ format
Prime Entertainment Group has closed a package deal with Belgian media group RTBF for five hours of documentary programmes and inked a deal with Swiss broadcaster SRF for its newly produced series Photographer.
RTBF will air the docs on its channel La Trois, which serves French speaking Belgium.
The includes the documentaries Groove Cruise (1×52-minutes), Scorching Summer in Odessa (1×52-minutes), Albania: Forbidden Paradise (1×52-minutes), Oakland’s Juvenile Squad (1×52-minutes) and Cape Town, the Anti-gang Squad.
Meanwhile, SRF will air 10×26-minute documentary series Photographer this March.
The series features some of the best photographers of our times. In each episode viewers meet a photographer at work, behind the scenes of a professional photo shoot where they open-up about their life, the most important moments of their career and the great stories that lie behind some of their most famous and iconic works.
“We are very glad to work with SFR again, they have been great partners for the last couple of years especially for our actors and director’s series. This time they go again for one of our new productions, a great series of photographer’s portraits that I proudly directed. It is a true honor to have this one premiering in Switzerland on the SRF tv channels and to see that they keep coming to us for the high-quality programs that they need,” said David Freydt, Prime’s managing director.

“We’re excited to be bringing the fun and very relatable format Forever or Never to the US market,” said Dan Snook, SVP of development at 44 Blue Productions. “In today’s swipe till you like dating culture, taking a second to slow down and have older generations involved brings a lot of laughs to something everyone can relate to.”
