NATPE sales: A+E strikes deals with Direct TV & NBC Universo; Twofour takes 130 hours across three key territories
On the eve of NATPE 2019, A+E has secured a raft of programming sales among Lat Am and US Hispanic markets.
Direct TV has picked up A+E titles David Cassidy: The Last Session, The Clinton Affair and The 44th President: In His Own Words. While Colombian FTA broadcaster Plural TV has licensed Live PD: Police Control, along with biopics Cocaine Godmother and Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland.
In the US Hispanic market, NBC Universo has licensed My Crazy Ex and Storage Wars.
“These latest sales demonstrate our commitment to growing A+E Networks’ client portfolio across the region and the growing appetite for our content,” said Helen Jurado, senior director, int’l content sales, A+E Networks.
“We are especially pleased with the increase in sales of our movies for women, that are made by women, and the many series which ring relevant to viewers around the globe.”
Twofour sells 130 hours across Canada, Lat Am & Europe
Twofour is heading to NATPE Miami with a package of sales totalling 130 hours.
Serdy Media in French Canada has acquired a 71-hour package of factual entertainment titles; The World’s Best Restaurants for their channel Evasion and Extreme Cake Makers, plus The Diner and Feeding The Super Rich for their Channel Zeste.
Extreme Cake Makers has also been picked up by Globosat in Brazil.
Meanwhile a volume sale including the latest special from the luxury lifestyle brand, The World’s Most Extraordinary Christmas Dinners, Sinkholes (S1), Undercover Girlfriends and Feeding The Super Rich has found a home with RTL in the Netherlands.
AB Groupe France has also inked a deal for the rights to air three seasons of the hit science and history brand, as well as its recent spin-off Impossible Railways. Elsewhere in the region, Canal Plus France has licensed the globally successful Born To Kill?.
The deals were secured by VP Sales, EMEA, Latin America & Canada, Eniela Bella, who is representing Twofour Rights’ latest unscripted catalogue at this week’s NATPE Miami.
