Netflix localises in Israel

Netflix has localised its service in Israel, introducing local language versioning and billing in local currency, as will as offering Israeli TV shows.

Netflix Israeli will now be available at ILS29.90 (US$8.40) a month. The service is also available via Partner TV, the TV service recently launched by mobile operator Partner Communications.

According to Netflix, over 75% of its content in Israel is dubbed or subtitled in Hebrew. Israeli shows on the service include Fauda, Bnei Aruba (Hostages) and Srugim (Devout).

Netflix has already localised its service in territories such as Poland, Thailand and Turkey.

Partner Communications has signed a deal with the subscription video-on-demand outfit to make its service available via Partner TV set-tops with a dedicated button on the service’s remote control.

Partner plans to run a consumer promotion later this year and will allow its customers to sign up for Netflix via their Partner TV bill.

In addition to Partner’s boxes, Netflix is available in Israel via Blu-ray palyers, PCs, game consoles, home theatre systems, smart TVs, Apple TV, and iOS and Android phones and tablets.
