Brazil falls for Curvy Supermodel
SBT has ordered a local version of Curvy Supermodel marking the entry of the modeling format in the Brazilian market.
The Brazilian broadcaster will run a ten-part version of the show, which originated in Germany, where Tresor TV made it for the RTLII net. The modelling talent competition that has a positive view of women with fuller figures, or body shapes outside the typical modelling range.
The Brazil news came as RTLII ordered a second season of the format.
The show is sold internationally by Armoza, which struck the new deals. It has also sold the series into France, Poland and the Netherlands.
“Curvy Supermodel has a strong and inherent truth that is relatable across the globe in today’s society,” said Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats. “We’re thrilled at the positive responses – both from the viewers and from the industry – and look forward to seeing the second season and working with SBT on the Brazilian adaptation.”
