Henson hires kids TV veteran Maizes
The Jim Henson Company has hired Sarah Maizes as vice president of children’s entertainment.
In the newly-created role at the kids producer and distributor she will focus on the production of preschool and older kids content.
She joins Henson having been a producer on Dot., the kids show Randi Zuckerberg created and produced for TV with Henson, and which is now on Sprout in the US.
Maizes has had several roles in the kids business as well as being a stand-up comedian and author has worked at William Morris, Nelvana and Mattel.
At Henson she will report to Halle Stanford, executive VP of children’s entertainment, who said: “Sarah brings her rich entertainment experience and deep understanding of kids and parents to her new role at Henson.
“She has a truly authentic point-of-view as both a parent and a grown-up kid, that will give a hilarious, honest touch to her work here.”
