ITV preps Karaoke Kidz format

UK broadcaster ITV is working up a new music format that will feature singing kids.

Karaoke Kidz will have kids aged 6-to-12 performing.

ITV has had success with Big Star Little Star show, in which celebrities and their kids answer about each other.

Its new show featuring youngsters will be produced by in-house content division ITV Studios, which is expected to sell the format internationally.

Casting is underway with auditions taking place early this year.

Several international broadcasters are getting kids into primetime entertainment shows, and shows such as Keshet International’s Masterclass have sold well internationally.
