Kudos exec transfers to Carnival
Another Kudos creative executive is leaving the Endemol Shine Group-owned UK drama label.
Jo Strevens is joining NBCUniversal International Studios-owned Carnival Films as head of development, having held the same role at Humans prodco Kudos.
Her exit closely follows that of Humans producer Chris Fry, who left Kudos to rejoin the prodco’s former boss, Jane Featherstone, and her new Sister Pictures prodco.
Two other senior Kudos staffers, Dan Isaacs and Naomi de Pear, also left for Sister this year.
Strevens will oversee all development at Downton Abbey prodco Carnival. At Kudos, she worked with writers, novelists and directors to grow the drama slate in the UK and internationally.
Before that, she was story producer on The Tunnel: Sabotage, the Sky and Canal+ coproduction that Kudos co-created.
She has also served as head of drama development for Hat Trick Productions, where she worked on projects such as The Suspicions of Mr Whicher and Case Sensitive, both of which were for ITV in the UK.
Strevens will report to Carnival chief Gareth Neame, who said her “extensive experience of bringing high-end drama slates to fruition as well as the relationships she has built with broadcasters, writers and directors, will prove essential in helping us take Carnival to the next level”.
Carnival’s latest commissions include second seasons of Sky 1 ratings hit Lucky Man, and BBC and Netflix coproduction The Last Kingdom, and The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses for the BBC and PBS in the US.
