ZDF orders antiques format
All3Media’s Tower Productions is making a German version of antiques format For What It’s Worth.
The show was created by Tuesday’s Child and went out on BBC One in the UK. It has been greenlit by pubcaster ZDF in Germany. A 20-episode first season will run on the ZDFneo digital channel in early in 2017.
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster the BBC, distributes the format and struck the German deal.
Karen Smith, CEO, Tuesday’s Child, said: “It’s a fresh, play-along quiz format built around the most compelling part of any antique show, ‘how much is it worth?’ I’m thrilled that ZDF are making it, they obviously have a great eye and can spot a TV treasure!”
The format has three pairs of contestants answering general knowledge questions. Correct answers allow them to select antique lots and the team with the most valuable lots at the end of the game is the winner.
Tower Productions, a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and All3Media, will make the show. It also makes the German versions of Sewing Bee (VOX), Great Bake Off (Sat.1) and Undercover Boss (RTL Germany and ORF Austria).
