A+E Networks UK extends BT deal

BannockburnA+E Networks UK has signed a new carriage deal with BT TV, in a move that will see new HD channels for Lifetime and H2 launch later this year.

Under the new partnership, Lifetime will move to BT’s basic pay package, ‘Entertainment Starter’.

The deal also secures the long-term availability on BT of A+E’s channel portfolio – History (Bannockburn, pictured), H2, Lifetime and Crime + Investigation.

“A+E Networks UK has a long-standing and close partnership with BT so I am delighted that we have not only agreed a new long-term carriage deal, but that we have also expanded our offering on this fast-growing UK platform,” said A+E Networks UK’s senior vice-president of distribution and strategy, Adrian Pilkington.

Tony Singh, business affairs director for BT TV and BTSport, added: “We’ve got a great and growing line up of channels on BT TV and we’re thrilled to extend our partnership with A+E. “BT’s customers love great factual programming and we’re delighted that they’ll now be able to enjoy all their favourite HISTORY, H2, C+I and Lifetime shows in HD.”
