Nippon, Red Arrow start Battle of the Homes
Japanese broadcaster Nippon is launching three new formats at MIPTV including Battle of the Homes, a new show developed with Red Arrow.
Nippon, creator of hit format Dragon’s Den, will also launch fashion competition format Battle of the Homes, and dating series Love Liar at the market.
Battle of the Homes is a fixed-rig format codeveloped with Red Arrow. It has neighbouring families taking in challenges in their own homes over 48 hours with a host spying and commentating on events all the while.
Love Liar (pictured) is an outdoor dating show in which a looking-for-love female goes on a romantic outing with two heart-throbs. The twist is, only one of the two actually likes her, and we see if she chooses correctly at the end of the episode.
In Celebrity Style Battle an item of clothing is selected and three celebs then draw lots to decide how much money they have to spend before they set out to find the most fashionable items in the given category. They model their purchases at the end of each episode.
“We are happy to see some of our innovative ideas and formats traveling across borders and are confident that these three new titles will resonate well with the buyers,” said Yukiko Kimishima, divisional president of international business development at Nippon. “Among them, we are also delighted to be announcing our newest venture with Red Arrow Entertainment.”
