UKTV launches Espresso space docs
UK multichannel operator UKTV has bought a trio of space-themed factual programmes from compatriot distributor Espresso Media International.
The BBC Worldwide- and Scripps Networks International-owned UKTV has taken The Sky is Not the Limit: The Chris Hadfield Story, a 1x45mins doc; another commercial hour, Is Anybody Out There?; and 2x52mins NASA’s 10 Greatest Achievements.
The Sky is Not the Limit will air on UKTV-owned Eden on Monday (March 14), with Is Anybody Out There? following to Tuesday, and the NASA two-parter on Wednesday and Thursday.
“We were drawn to these space programmes from Espresso Media International in particular as they reveal the uncompromising side of space exploration, but also have relatable human element and an interesting story to tell,” said UKTV acquisitions and coproductions manager Emma Sparks.
