A&E prepares for Enfield Haunting
Basic cable channel A&E has acquired US rights to strong-rating Sky Living paranormal drama The Enfield Haunting.
A+E Networks-owned A&E plans to broadcast the three-part series from October 9 in a 10pm ET/PT slot after a deal with distributor Entertainment One Television.
In the UK, The Enfield Haunting debuted in May to the best ratings pay TV channel Sky Living has had since joining the Sky stable in 2010.
Adapted from Guy Lyon Playfair’s book This House is Haunted, the drama follows the story of the most-documented account of poltergeist activity in British history, centring on a suburban London house where a series of terrifying incidents occurred.
The show comes from UK indie Eleven Film, whose co-founder Jamie Campbell said: “American audiences will now have the opportunity to be both entertained and terrified by the world’s most notorious poltergeist.”
eOne sells the show through a first-look agreement it has with Eleven.
