US-based 7A Media and Spain’s Comercial TV will join forces to distribute their respective catalogues in their local operating territories.
The pair will share new office space in Miami, from where Cesar Diaz’s 7A will represent Comercial’s interests in the Latin American market. Comercial, meanwhile, will operate out of bases in Madrid and Barcelona I an effort to sell 7A’s programming in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Former Cisneros Media International boss Diaz launched 7A last year, as TBI first reported, to consult, distribute and develop projects.
Comercial bills itself as Spain’s first digital distributor. Founded by Santiago Gimeno in 207, it focuses on international dramas and entertainment programmes.
Gimeno described Diaz as having “constantly shown throughout his extensive career to understand product and audiovisual market as only few can, especially in Latin America”.
“We have a great opportunity to exploit synergies and boost our international development,” said Diaz. “Santiago has been able to position his company as a cutting-edge and leading distributor in just a few years. I strongly believe we will achieve to improve our results and optimize our contribution in each market.”
Diaz has also scored a pact with US-based producer CMJ Productions this year.
