Diaz pacts with bullish CMJ

Cesar Diaz and his new content company, 7A Media, is to consult for US-based producer CMJ Productions.

Former Cisneros Media Distribution boss Diaz launched 7A this year, and is currently debuting the firm at NATPE. He is also handling Asian sales for his former employer, as TBI reported this week.

His hire comes as CMJ seeks to “pursue new opportunities in Latin America”, according to company CEO and founder John Kuyk, who is also in Miami this week.

“Coming off of the exceptionally strong year we had across the board in 2014 regarding our factual and lifestyle network series, heading into the New Year, this feels exactly like the right time to spread our wings towards Latin America,” he said.

“Mirroring our philosophy of working with the best network partners worldwide, we are pleased to be joining forces with Cesar Diaz to utilise his wealth of experience in this exciting part of the world.”

Kuyk added CMJ had “more than doubled” its original productions in 2014 to more than 250 hours. Its shows included Celebrity Damage Control and Celebrity Legacies for the likes of Reelz Channel in the US, InvestigationQuebec, OWN and W in Canada.
