Netflix among those joining Z Nation
Netflix has taken worldwide on-demand rights to zombie drama Z Nation, becoming one of a number of buyers of the Dynamic Television-sold show.
Netflix is joined in acquiring the show by Pick in the UK, Universal Networks International in Australia and Germany, RTL2 in Germany, Canal Plus in France, AXN Italy, Leone Film Group, Telenet in Belgium, Sohu in China, Puls in Poland, Viasat in Hungary, Sky in New Zealand, Hollywood Movie Channel in Taiwan and KMH Korea.
The action-horror series from The Asylum (Sharknado) was the US cable channel Syfy’s highest-rated new series in 2014, and the second-most watched show on the network overall.
It follows a group of fighters in a zombie apocalypse transporting the only known survivor of a zombie attack across the US to a research lab.
A second season of 15 episodes has been commissioned following the first 28x52mins run.
