Raft of presales for French WW2 doc
A raft of international broadcasters have prebought World War II feature doc Surrender.
The 1x90mins (or 2x45mins) film is produced by France’s Roche Productions and was commissioned by French commercial broadcaster TF1.
French distributor Terranoa is selling it internationally and has shopped it to SRC in Canada, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, TV3 Catalunya, RTP in Portugal, LRT in Lithuania, RTS in Slovenia, and Czech pubcaster CT.
In the US Discovery has come on board the doc, which will debut on TF1 next May.
Surrender follows the events of V-E Day, when the Nazis surrendered to the Allies in Europe, and will go out on TF1 next May to coincide with the event’s 70th anniversary. The film has colourised archive footage and testimonials from soldiers, nurses and civilians from both sides.
Terranoa said it is close to sealing further US deals and an agreement with a Japanese buyer.
