Can’t Stop goes Back to the Present
Matthieu Porte’s Can’t Stop Media has brought a documentary that’s timed to launch as seminal 1980s movie Back to the Future turns 30.
Canal+ in France has commissioned Back to the Present, which will look at what predictions from the film have come to pass. The original suggested a number of technological advances would have happened by October 21, 2015, which is the day Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) travels to.
Can’t Stop, Allo Houston and D8 have produced the one-off doc.
“This movie has defined a view of the future in the last century in a way that maybe only Jules Vernes had in the century before,” said D8’s programme director Xavier Gandon. “What a wonderful opportunity to take a look back at the visionary version of Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg and to compare it with next year’s ”real future”. We are proud to have developed with our partners what promises to be the major tv documentary event of 2015.”
