Gil Productions’ Are You For Real? was the most-screened show at the MIPFormats event in Cannes this past weekend.
The gameshow was the most-watched by buyers over the course of the fomats event. By programming category, gameshows were the second most popular genre behind entertainment projects. Reality shows were third most popular ahead of scripted formats and comedy formats.
Japan’s TV Asahi had the second most-watched format with entertainment series Be a Legend. Tricon placed third with its show Hit Record and Belgium’s Sharebox was fourth with fact-ent offering 1001 Citizens.
Alongside Asahi, another Japanese content firm, NHK Enterprises, made the top-ten, placing fifth with its gameshow Back to School!.
Israel’s Gil registered two top-ten entries, with gameshow While You Were Getting Married in sixth.
Spain had two top-ten entries: Veralia’s Follow Back in seventh, and Pausoka’s gameshow Do You Know Me? in joint tenth alongside ZDF Enterprises’ entertainment format Dalli Dalli.
Russian and Italian content firms rounded out the top ten with CTC Network’s entertainment format Battle of Outfits ranked eighth and Rai Trade’s gameshow High Heels ninth.
