Young Turks and German docs hits Hulu
The Young Turks, the online news and commentary show on YouTube, is launching on Hulu.
The US streaming version will have a condensed version of The Young Turks, which was created by progressive commentator Cenk Uygur who also presents the show. A daily 30-minute version of the show will be on Hulu.
There will also be a weekly entertainment show from The Young Turks Network. Pop Trigger will be a shortened version of its YouTube equivalent with celebrity interviews and news.
Separately, Hulu has acquired a package of documentary programming from ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of the German pubcaster.
Hulu has picked up twelve docs. Titles include Wild Germany, Wild Poland, The History of the Christmas Tree and Scotland – Highlands and Islands, which, ZDF noted, “is sure to appeal to American viewers who like their docs wild and woolly”.
The factual shows will be on the free ad-supported Hulu service as well as its premium subscription counterpart Hulu+.
