Bell adds Maron, Birthday Boys in Tricon deal

Canada’s Bell Media has added a pair of IFC original programmes from compariot distributor Tricon Films & Television.

The deal includes Marc Maron’s 23x30mins comedy Maron and 10x30mins show The Birthday Boys.

They will premiere at 9pm and 9.30pm, respectively on March 6 on Bell-owned The Movie Network, which recently launched another Tricon-sold IFC original, comic miniseries The Spoils of Babylon.

The Bell and Tricon agreement has also spanned the launch of Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk on speciality nets The Comedy Network and Much, respectively.

Tricon has exclusive international sales rights to IFC’s original scripted series.
