News brief: PBS buys Shine’s Vicious

US broadcaster PBS has acquired British comedy series Vicious.
The 6x30mins show, which stars Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings) and Derek Jacobi (The King’s Speech) as two men who have shared the same London flat for fifty years, is produced by Brown Eyed Boy in association with Kudos and Nickelby Inc.
It is distributed by Shine International, which cut the PBS deal.
